Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant – Business Services to join a busy and collaborative accounting practice. This is a full-time role where you’ll work across a diverse client base including sole traders, trusts, companies, partnerships and SMSFs, providing end-to-end accounting, tax and compliance support.

This role suits someone confident in public practice who enjoys client interaction, managing multiple jobs, and working across compliance and advisory tasks in a structured but fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparing financial statements, tax returns, BAS, FBT and payroll tax returns
• Managing accounting and taxation work for a range of entity structures
• Maintaining accurate, cross-referenced electronic workpapers
• Liaising with clients, ATO and state revenue authorities as required
• Using the ATO Tax Agent Portal for reporting and client information
• Handling client queries and supporting meetings and file preparation
• Managing assigned jobs end-to-end including billing and documentation
• Supporting office operations including filing, phones and general admin when needed
• Assisting with year-end tax planning and advisory tasks
• Ensuring all client work is completed accurately and within deadlines

What you’ll need:

• Previous experience in a similar public practice accounting role
• Strong knowledge of tax, compliance and business structures
• Advanced IT and accounting software skills
• Experience with electronic workpapers
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload
• Confident client-facing and relationship management ability
• High attention to detail and accuracy
