Assessments Team Leader – Lending

Our client is seeking an experienced Assessments Team Leader with strong expertise in commercial and consumer lending to join their team in Perth on a 12-month contract.

Reporting to the Head of Credit, you will lead a team of three Assessors and play a hands-on role in delivering high-quality lending assessments across SME, business, and consumer portfolios. This is a fantastic opportunity for a credit leader to remain close to complex lending decisions, while also driving team performance, compliance, and service delivery.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead, coach, and support a team of three Assessors across commercial and consumer lending portfolios
• Ensure timely and accurate lending assessments while maintaining credit quality and risk standards
• Provide guidance on complex commercial and consumer credit assessments and act as a key escalation point
• Oversee reporting and monitoring of team performance
• Partner with the Head of Credit on credit policy reviews, audits, and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with IT to support lending system enhancements and troubleshooting
• Assist during peak periods to ensure smooth end-to-end lending workflows

What you’ll bring:

• Experience in consumer and commercial lending or financial services
• Strong knowledge of credit risk, lending regulations, and compliance frameworks
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities
• Tech-savvy with MS Office and lending systems experience
