Governance Coordinator

Our client is seeking an experienced temp Governance Coordinator to join their team in South Perth. This is a great opportunity for a governance professional with local government experience to take ownership of governance processes, support Elected Members, and help ensure legislative compliance across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Coordinating Council and Committee meeting processes, including agendas and minutes
• Supporting governance projects and local government reform initiatives
• Managing policy, delegation, and governance reviews
• Providing governance and administrative support to Elected Members
• Supporting risk management and compliance activities
• Leading and supporting Governance staff
• Preparing governance reports and maintaining governance records

What you’ll need:

• Relevant qualification in Law, Business Administration, Governance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Sound knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995 and associated legislation
• Experience preparing Council and Committee agendas, minutes, and governance reports
• Strong written communication, organisational, and time management skills
• High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and motivate staff
